Having Thompson-Okanagan region member associations stage various rounds of BCSPL play is a means of sharing hosting duties as well as an opportunity for local youth players in Kamloops to observe the level of play that is required to compete in the top youth soccer league in the province.
The BCSPL has eight franchises: Coquitlam Metro Ford SC, Fusion FC (drawing from the Vancouver/Richmond area), Fraser Valley Premier FC, Mountain United FC (drawing from Burnaby and North Vancouver), Coastal FC (representing Peace Arch, Semiahmoo and South Fraser soccer clubs), Surrey United FC, Vancouver Island FC, and Thompson-Okanagan FC.
There are currently fifteen Kamloops-resident players currently playing on TOFC teams.
“This is a another great opportunity for our coaches and players to see some of the best youth soccer talent in the province playing in our own back yard,” says KYSA President Graham Cope, a former TOFC representative on the BCSPL board of governors. “It is also a chance for our younger players to see how skillful you have to be to play in the top flight!”
There is no charge for spectators to attend any of the TOFC matches.
