Team Report for:    TOFC U-16 Boys

Game Date: January 16 – 19

Teams (Division): Portland Winter College Showcase Tournament

Final Score:   3 wins, 1 tie.

January 16th – 19th the TOFC 1999 Boys went undefeated in the Portland Winter College Showcase Tournament. Their U-16 age group had 22 teams arriving from the 1st or 2nd division in four states and British Columbia.

The TOFC squad faced tough completion in every game but they were able to create good scoring opportunities and assembled a solid defense. Connor Glennon (Vernon) completed a brace in the first game as the boys won 2-1. TOFC’s second 2-1 victory was perhaps their physically most challenging, but solid passing earned them goals from Ethan Beselt (West Kelowna) and Graeme Lewis (Prince George). The third game’s 1-0 win was reached when Connor Glennon bulged the old onion bag for the third time in the tournament.  Their final game saw the boys maintain the majority of possession and Jared Quibell (Vernon) hammered in one goal as the boys finished the tournament with a 1-1 tie.

TOFC’s captain, Sam McDonald, was a true leader as he coordinated the squad and maintained calm when other teams applied pressure. Keeper, Taitum MacAulay, earned a clean sheet and did not allow more than 1 goal in any game.
