U13 Girls place 2nd at SX Cup

Congratulation to the U13 Girls TOFC team and new coach Mark Mackenzie (Kamloops)  for winning second place at the SX Premier Cup in Surrey September long weekend.   The girls worked really well together to win three of the their games and tie one.

Saturday Aug 30th they played Coquitlam Metro Ford FC  winning 2-1, beautiful goals scored by Yvonne Manarwig  (Kamloops)  at 13 minutes and  again at  22 minutes into second half of the game.   Saturday the TOFC 13 girls played a double header .  The first game the TOFC 13 Girls tied Vancouver Island Wave FC  1-1, new player   Mya Onyango (Kamloops) rushed in and   scored a rebound goal  2 minutes into the second half .  The second game of the day was against PSPL Academy from Washington state and the girls fought hard and worked well together to win the game 2-0.   Ava Bakala (Kelowna)  had a great break away down the left side  and scored the first goal 16 minutes into the second half which was followed by  Yvonne Manarwig (Kamloops) who scored their second goal 26 minutes into the second half.

The team advance to the semifinal round  to win the game after a hard fought game against their  rival  from the BC premier league team Mountain FC.  Yvonne Manwaring took a shot on goal from outside the 18 yard line and scored a beautiful goal to win the game.    (the parents went crazy with excitement)

Honorable mention should be to the TOFC U13 goalie, KY OLORIZ and  the defensive line with new comers Maddy Gobeil (Kamloops) and Mira  Szudek (Vernon) along with Katie Smith, Sam Gerelle and Kristen Moon  (Kelowna) who all played exceptional games and tournament .
