TOFC U15 Boys
KYSA Slurpee Cup U-16 Division

A determined U-15 Thompson Okanagan Football Club took on the KYSA Slurpee Cup U-16 boys division taking gold on the final day. Their first game on Friday took place against a strong Kamloops Blaze team. A friendly rivalry became apparent as former Blaze player Zach Rachynski was gunning for a hat trick against his old coach. Rachyski was able to get two of the three with a final of 2- nil for TOFC earning him game MVP. Second game of the day put Vernon’s Nick Klymchyk in the role of striker for 2 goals and an assist against Williams Lake Storm giving him game MVP. Kelowna’s Peter Warshawski and a penalty kick by Rachynski added the icing on the cake for a 4 – nil victory. Sunday’s game against Burnaby Wesburn Storm’s physical play did not deter TOFC’s drive for the gold. Former Penticton player Jetson Gibbs as striker earned game MVP with strong play and a goal. Noah Van Demark of Kelowna drove hard to the net for number two and Zach Rachynski earned his fourth goal of the tournament for a 3 – nil win. The final game on Monday against a big Terrace Kermodes team ended in a nil-nil draw giving TOFC the overall points win with Kelowna’s Justis Jelasco earning game MVP for outstanding game play. Excellent defense by Kamloop’s Harminder Padda, and Penticton’s Magnus Morhart helped earn Salmon Arm’s Doug Harrison 4 shut-outs as keeper.
