Thompson Okanagan FC players selected into Whitecaps FC Boys MLS Academy & Girls Elite REX Programs.

Thompson Okanagan FC is proud to announce that 8 players have been selected by Whitecaps FC into their Boys MLS Academy and Girls Elite REX Programs.

The Girls National EXCEL Program is a six-year structure for developing female players U-14 to U-20 who demonstrate the highest level of ability in preparation for their contribution to Canada’s Women’s National Team. The program is built on four pillars of development – physical, technical/tactical, mental, and social/emotional. As part of the Canada Soccer Pathway, Whitecaps FC have partnered with BC Soccer and Canada Soccer to launch the first Women’s Regional EXCEL Centre (REX) in Western Canada. The Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX Program in Partnership with BC Soccer kicked off in January 2015 and is led by Whitecaps FC Girls Elite staff with support from BC Soccer. 

Players for the Boys MLS Academy are identified through Whitecaps FC Academy Centre network, the BC Provincial Program, and an extensive scouting network and player evaluation processes.  In accordance with MLS territorial regulations, Whitecaps FC recruit players from BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and parts of Eastern Canada.  The primary objective is to identify local BC-based players through the BC Soccer Premier League.  

Through their dedication to train and their desire to develop and succeed, these players have taken advantage of the opportunity that can only be attained by playing at the highest level, in the BC Soccer Premier League.  TOFC players selected are:

Alesandro Comita, Kamloops, TOFC 2003 Boys Team.  Selected to WFC MLS Academy (Fulltime)

Braden Malcolm, Penticton, TOFC 2005 Boys Team.  Selected to WFC MLS Academy (Fulltime)

Will Hoffman, Kelowna, TOFC 2006 Boys Team.  Selected to WFC Pre MLS Academy (Part Time program)

Kate Cartier, Kelowna, TOFC 2003 Girls Team.  Selected to WFC Girls Elite  REX Program (Fulltime)

Andrea Kraetzer, Kelowna, TOFC 2004 Girls Team.  Selected to WFC Girls Elite  REX Program (Fulltime)

Shae Taylor, Kelowna, TOFC 2004 Girls Team.  Selected to WFC Girls Elite  REX Program (Fulltime)

Ella Krete, Kelowna, TOFC 2005 Girls Team.  Selected to WFC Girls Elite  REX Program (Fulltime)

Aliyah Deneault, Kamloops, TOFC 2006 Girls Team.  Selected to WFC Girls Pre Elite REX Program (Part Time program)
