TOFC boys finish second in League Cup Finals.

This past Saturday, at Trillium Fields in Vancouver, Thompson Okanagan FC’s U14 Boys and U17 Boys both participated in the BC Soccer Premier League Cup Finals.  It was the first time TOFC has had teams make it to the League Cup Final in what has been the club’s most successful season to date. A total of 4 TOFC teams played in the semi finals, with the two boys teams winning and moving to the final. games.
Unfortunately, both sides came up on the losing side in overtime games.  TOFC U14 Boys were tied 1-1 after regulation and ended up losing 2-1 to Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club at the end of overtime. Lucas Hicklin of Kelowna, who just spent a week training with the Vancouver Whitecaps Pre-Residency Team in Vancouver, was exceptionally strong for the Okanagan club.
The TOFC U17 Boys suffered a similar fate, also tied 1-1 after regulation, with goalkeeper Nick Reitsma of Kelowna stopping a penalty kick in the 8th minute.  However, extra time proved to not be their friend as Coquitlam Metro Ford’s U17 Boys scored twice to down TOFC 3-1.
